JOB SCOPE

Provides environmental, health, safety leadership to all our manufacturing facilities for one business unit. Accountable for the following: identifying and managing significant environmental aspects, energy aspects and health and safety hazards; assuring accurate and complete EHS&E reporting of metrics; assuring that EHS&E self-assessments are thoroughly completed on a timely basis; completion of required training; managing interfaces with government authorities; supporting actions during and following crises; and supporting medical case management. Assures maintenance of all related certificates (ISO 14001, 45001, 50001) working close with all plants globally and the external certification body. Responsible for the company's EHS&E system management.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Facilitates process and provides technical and administrative services such as industrial hygiene sampling, ergonomic evaluations to ensure compliance with EHS&E regulations and Company's requirements. Specific attention is needed to evaluate and ensure compliance with local EHS requirements.
  • Establishes and shares ownership and accountability for the achievement of local goals and objectives along with timely and accurate reporting mechanisms in support of Corporate/Business strategic initiatives designed to produce verifiable world class performance.
  • Supports EHS&E risk assessment initiatives and risk mitigation.
  • Ensures environmental permits, submission of required reports, and maintenance of data are properly managed by sites globally.
  • Builds organization capability by providing EHS&E training and development of EHS&E professionals to ensure each site has the appropriate technical and functional competencies.
  • Supports manufacturing sites by developing an EHS training and deployment plan for successful cross-functional implementation of the Company's EHS&E Directives/Documentation requirements.
  • Supports the investigation process of incidents (including near misses, releases, and losses) and accidents to determine root causes and prepares/directs corrective and preventive action plans. Identify and determine correction action for systemic EHS&E issues globally.
  • Supports initiatives to improve environmental conditions in the community and off-the-job safety.
  • Supports response actions to emergency situations dealing with the environment, employees, or the community.
  • Provides subject expertise on: Occupational Health, Environmental Engineering/Management, Safety, Energy and EHS&E Systems.
  • Support to implement environmental and energy reduction measures directed.
  • Ensure certifications are maintained for ISO 14001 and ISO 50001. Develop sites to become certified to ISO 45001. Lead and coordinate with plant internal audits towards ISO 14001, 50001 and 45001)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION & PROVEN REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Master Degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental discipline or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years working knowledge of cross-functional EHS&E disciplines
  • Ability to serve as a subject matter expert in one of the EHS&E functional disciplines (Occupational Health, Environmental Engineering/Management, Safety, Energy or EHS&E Systems.
  • Professional certification preferred (Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, or country equivalent)
  • Certified in ISO 14001, 50001 and 45001 (at least in one norm)
