Business Analyst Industrial Insurance Underwriting

Your Tasks

• Analyze business requirements, underwriting processes and user flows to support digitalization and AI enablement initiatives in the underwriting environment
• Identify, structure and validate business problems, opportunities and user needs before solution design
• Assess the integration feasibility and integration options for AI use cases already implemented as pilot or POC solutions and derive approaches for their further development and optimization
• Define and manage requirements for embedding AI-enabled capabilities into the Underwriting Workbench workflow or, where full integration is not yet feasible, for ensuring a consistent end-to-end data flow across connected solutions
• Support business stakeholders in capturing, refining and translating business requirements into IT-specific requirements for seamless underwriting processes
• Design, document and maintain requirements, analyses and process descriptions for the Underwriting Workbench, related underwriting processes, interfaces and integrations
• Co-own backlog refinement, prioritization and value delivery together with the Product Owner, including user stories, enablers and acceptance criteria
• Plan and facilitate workshops, align stakeholders across business and technology, and contribute to international underwriting processes with a strong end-to-end perspective
• Support testing and quality assurance activities to ensure usability, functionality, requirement quality and a seamless working experience for underwriters

Your Profile

• Completed studies in economics, business informatics, business administration, insurance management or a comparable field
• Extensive hands-on experience in business analysis and requirements engineering, ideally as a Business Analyst, Requirements Engineer, Systems Analyst or Consultant
• Experience in the insurance industry, preferably in industrial insurance and underwriting-related environments
• Solid technical understanding in non-coding contexts, including APIs, interface logic, data modelling, validation rules and modern software architecture principles
• Good understanding of modern software delivery, including cloud- and API-based integrations as well as common development and deployment processes
• Experience or strong interest in applying and assessing AI technologies in business analysis, process automation or decision support, including the ability to evaluate potential and risks in a business context
• Experience in systematic software testing and in defining high-quality requirements and acceptance criteria
• Strong analytical, communication and moderation skills, with the ability to structure complex problems independently and manage diverse stakeholders effectively
• Agile mindset, hands-on mentality, strong team orientation and very good written and spoken English skills (at least C1)
