Business Development Manager - Asphalt Additives (f/m/d)

Job Highlights

  • Define and execute the global growth strategy for the asphalt additives business.
  • Lead market development activities with a near-term focus on warm mix asphalt additives in Europe, while supporting business growth in other global regions.
  • Represent the business unit at key industry conferences, trade shows, technical forums, and customer events.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with customers, channel partners, industry associations, authorities, universities, and research institutes.
  • Identify, establish, optimize, and manage channel partner networks to maximize commercial growth opportunities.
  • Work closely with innovation team to develop and refine value propositions for both existing and new product offerings.
  • Collaborate closely with sales teams and channel partners to effectively position and present solutions to customers.
  • Identify and develop new product and application opportunities in the asphalt sector by leveraging existing chemistries, technologies, and portfolio capabilities.
  • Lead innovation projects jointly with technical team from concept through commercialization using stage-gate processes.
  • Support or lead additional strategic growth initiatives beyond asphalt within the region as aligned with business unit priorities.


Experience / Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, sales/marketing, technical services, or related commercial/technical roles.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the asphalt industry, either with asphalt additive suppliers, asphalt producers, or related value chain participants.
  • Experience with warm mix asphalt and/or polymer-modified bitumen is strongly preferred.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving capability, and ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and dynamic environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functions and cultures within a global organization.
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Professional-level communication skills (written and verbal) in both English and German are required.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 30-40%) within Europe and globally.
