Your future tasks:
The Cable Engineering and Fabrication Engineer is responsible for the design, technical coordination, and manufacturing follow-up of inter-array and export cables for Skyborn's offshore wind projects. The Cable Engineering and Fabrication Engineer ensure cables are specified, designed, and fabricated in accordance with project requirements, Employer requirements, international standards, and certification guidelines. Working closely with the remaining team members within the cable package, the Cable Engineering and Fabrication Engineer plays a key role in delivering high-quality and reliable cable systems fit for purpose and ready for offshore installation works across Skyborn's offshore wind projects.

Your future tasks:
The Cable Engineering and Fabrication Engineer is responsible for the design, technical coordination, and manufacturing follow-up of inter-array and export cables for Skyborn's offshore wind projects. The Cable Engineering and Fabrication Engineer ensure cables are specified, designed, and fabricated in accordance with project requirements, Employer requirements, international standards, and certification guidelines. Working closely with the remaining team members within the cable package, the Cable Engineering and Fabrication Engineer plays a key role in delivering high-quality and reliable cable systems fit for purpose and ready for offshore installation works across Skyborn's offshore wind projects.
- Responsible for identifying key challenges related to cables and cable protection for early project developments (Origination, Feasibility and Concept).
- Responsible for providing market screening, technical assessments and recommendation towards top tier suppliers for cables and Cable Protection Systems.
- Responsible for providing assessment of cable sizing, length of cables, technical requirements (ER), cable layout, landfall assessment, etc.
- Defines the technical requirements for inter-array and export cables for engineering and manufacturing.
- Responsible for review and coordination of TQs, NCRs, supplier audits, etc.
- Responsible for cable route engineering, survey corridors and identifying boundaries/constraints relevant for cable layout.
- Responsible for defining audits and inspection plans for cable supply.
- Responsible for aligning mechanical interfaces to the cables (CPS, trenching/cable protection, subsea crossing, scour protection, rock placement, etc.) with other packages such as the wind turbine package (WTG) and foundation package (FOU).
- Responsible for reviewing and tracking fabrication processes, attending FATs, and quality assurance of documentation during cable production.
- Coordinate engineering deliverables with cable manufacturers, including cable design, materials, and accessories.
Your profile:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-6 years of experience in cable design, engineering, or manufacturing - ideally within the offshore wind or subsea cable industry.
- Solid understanding of subsea cable technologies, materials, and standards (e.g., IEC, CIGRÉ).
- Familiarity with electrical and mechanical cable testing procedures and quality assurance processes.
- Strong coordination skills across internal disciplines and external manufacturers.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and testing data.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Willingness to travel to cable manufacturing and testing facilities as required.
- Align on design basis for cable and cable protection systems (CPS) with cable suppliers and CPS suppliers.
- Initiate the alignment on cable fabrication certification scope towards cable supplier together with project certification team.
- Coordinating site attendance visit, audits and inspections for cable manufacturing.
- Ensuring all cable as-build documentation and test results are reviewed and accepted and archived as part of project documentation towards operation stage / handover.
- Provide design input / specification to the Cable Transport and Installation Team to ensure cable handling and installation is done in accordance with Employer Requirements.
- Contribute to risk assessments, HAZIDs, and readiness reviews throughout the engineering and manufacturing phases.
