Doctoral Researcher/PhD
Philipps-Universität Marburg
Marburg, Hessen 35037, Germany
Teilzeit
Gehalt: 13 $ Stündlich
Reference: 881912188
The position is offered for a period of 3 years, if no former times of qualification must be considered. The starting date is as soon as possible. The position is part-time (65% of regular working hours) with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13, 65%).
Project: Plant cell walls represent a structural barrier against the penetration of plant-pathogenic fungi. Moreover, the detection of cell wall damage activates intracellular signaling pathways that are coordinated with defense signaling. This project aims to investigate how specific cell wall properties influence these defense mechanisms. Literature on the project can be found under: https://doi.org/10.1093/jxb/erae442 ; https://doi.org/10.1111/tpj.70438 ; https://doi.org/10.1101/2025.09.09.675042 .
Tasks:
The position is limited to a time period deemed adequate for the completion of a doctoral degree. As part of the assigned duties, there will be ample opportunity to conduct the independent scientific research necessary for the completion of a doctorate. The limitation complies to Section 2(1) of the German Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act (WissZeitVG).
Profile:
Disposition to own scientific qualification (i.e. to obtain a doctorate) is expected.
We offer:
We actively support the professional development of junior researchers by the offers of Marburg Research Academy (MARA), the International Office and the Higher Education Didactics Office.
