documenta and Museum Fridericianum gGmbH is a non-profit organization owned and funded by the City of Kassel and the State of Hesse. The non-profit organization is responsible for the documenta exhibition, which takes place every five years, Fridericianum, documenta archiv and documenta Halle.
We are looking for a well-organized and responsible individual who would like to join the documenta team as a Curatorial Assistant (m/f/d) to implement the Performance Art Program for documenta 16 in Kassel. This is a full-time position, valid until October 31, 2027.
The place of work is Kassel.
Your responsibilities:
• The practical implementation of the Performance Art Program in close collaboration with the curators in charge
• Creating and monitoring the production plan and timeline
• Resource management
• Close and fluid communication between the artists, curatorial team, curators, and performance venues
• Research and organization of stage equipment and personnel for various performance venues and magnitude
• Close collaboration and communication with the production department of documenta gGmbH
• Documentation of processes and projects
Your profile:
• Profound experience in event management and event production
• Professional experience within art or cultural institutions, preferably in team settings and in the development of artistic projects
• Ability to conceptualize, plan, and execute events of various magnitudes
• Highly organized, proactive, and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within diverse teams; adaptable and flexible in dynamic environments
• Troubleshooting skills and the capacity to respond effectively and quickly
• Holder of a Class B driver's license
