Your Responsibilities
As a Senior Consultant SAP HCM Payroll (m/f/d), you will take on a leading role in the digitalization and strategic advancement of payroll processes for our customers in both the public sector and private industry. You will be responsible for the functional leadership of demanding implementation projects and serve as the key point of contact for business, process-related, and technical matters in the SAP HCM Payroll environment.
Working closely with HR departments, IT teams, project teams, and decision-makers, you will ensure that collective bargaining agreements, legal requirements, and company-specific regulations are efficiently, reliably, and sustainably reflected in the system. You will contribute your expertise not only in day-to-day customer projects but also actively drive standards, quality, and continuous improvement within the project environment.

Your responsibilities include, in particular:
- Providing holistic and strategic consulting services to customers in all aspects of SAP HCM Payroll.
- Taking responsibility for the analysis, design, and implementation of complex customer requirements related to payroll processing.
- Performing SAP Payroll customizing, including payroll schemas and rules.
- Implementing and evaluating collective bargaining and legal requirements, such as TVöD, TV-L, and German civil service regulations.
- Leading and facilitating workshops, best-practice presentations, and functional alignment meetings with customers.
- Preparing and reviewing functional concepts, technical specifications, and project documentation.
- Providing functional leadership within customer projects and assuming responsibility for workstreams.
- Actively contributing to proposal processes, presales activities, and the development of suitable solution scenarios.
- Mentoring and supporting the professional development of consultants and junior team members.
Your Profile
You hold a degree in Business Administration, (Business) Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or possess a comparable qualification. In addition, you bring the following experience and competencies:
- Several years of professional experience (at least 7 years) as an SAP HCM Consultant with a focus on Payroll in end-to-end customer projects within the public sector and/or private industry.
- Extensive expertise in payroll processing, including in-depth knowledge of taxation and social security regulations.
- Significant hands-on experience in independently customizing the SAP HCM Payroll (PY) module.
- Very good knowledge of interfaces and dependencies with SAP HCM modules such as Time Management (PT), Organizational Management (OM), Personnel Administration (PA), Finance and Controlling (FI/CO), ABAP, and SAP HR cloud applications.
- Strong consulting skills, analytical thinking, and a structured, solution-oriented approach to work.
- Experience in the functional management of projects, teams, or workstreams.
- Confident application of both traditional project management standards and agile methodologies.
- Excellent German language skills at a minimum C1 level and good English language skills at a minimum B2 level.
