Global Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is a sub function of Group Risk and Compliance. Its purpose is to make sure HSBC understands and effectively controls its non-financial risk position, through end-to-end oversight of processes, risks, and controls and by robust stewardship of the bank's risk appetite to comply with risk, business, and regulatory priorities. It seeks to strengthen the risk culture across the organization through the application of effective policies and frameworks that drive consistent risk management practices across our businesses and functions at global, regional and market level.

In this role you will

  • You will ensure that HSBC Continental Europe (HBCE) and HSBC Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) adheres to standards for the management of Business Interruption and Incident Risk (BIRR) & Facilities Availability, Safety and Security (FASS) Risks as set out in the Group's framework
  • You will act as a Risk Steward to cover regulatory driven activity and will follow the Group approach to proactively identify, assess, measure and report on, mitigate and control risk exposures associated with HSBC's businesses and operations at all levels of the organization
  • You will support the HBCE and CIB business/function leaders ongoing understanding of BIRR & FASS risk management in addition to giving guidance
  • Related to third party risk management, you will support the oversight of emerging risks, strategic business initiatives and local change activity as well as new/materially changed products
  • You will ensure that all decisions are made in the best interests of our clients, and that delivery of HBCE & Europe perimeter and services are operationally resilient
  • You provide regular and timely insight into local developments, events and regulatory changes and act as a conduit for information and messages back and forth

You should apply if you have

  • Expertise in operational resilience/ operational risk, very good knowledge of risk management practices and framework as well as comprehensive knowledge of the external environment (risk, regulatory, geopolitical, competitor etc.)
  • Proven experience in at least one of the underlying resilience risk disciplines
  • Very good stakeholder management skills, ability to partner with 1LOD while maintaining independence and exercising constructive challenge
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (clear, structured, senior-ready)
  • Independent and structured ways of working
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Very good English language skills

What you'll get in return

The pay range for this role is 64.700,-- € - 97.100,-- €.

The final compensation structure depends on your qualifications and the resulting contractual grading:
  • Tariff grading: The compensation is governed by the collective agreement for the private banking sector (Tarifvertrag für das private Bankgewerbe).
  • Non-Tariff grading: For roles outside the tariff structure, HSBC offers multiple variable pay plans, to reflect the diverse nature of the businesses, roles and markets in which we operate. Variable pay is designed to reward colleagues for their individual performance and contribution, as well as the performance of their relevant Business / Infrastructure, and the overall Group.
