JOB SUMMARY:
Primary Responsibilities: Develop and deliver value propositions through upselling products by thoroughly understanding customer needs and business challenges. Investigate, analyze, and resolve customer product-related issues, and propose the most appropriate products, systems, and solutions. Effectively visualize and communicate the value of proposed solutions, ensuring the delivery of tangible and measurable value to customers. Develop case studies based on laboratory data, pilot testing results, and benchmark data to support value-driven proposals and decision-making.
Additional Responsibilities: Provide technical support to Sales teams and customers to ensure proper product application and successful project execution. Collaborate closely with Sales and customers on product usage, application, and system performance.Support plant commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting at customer sites. Evaluate new and existing product performance through on-site support and pilot testing. Analyze plant and returned membrane data, and clearly communicate findings and solutions. Oversee pilot unit operation and lead the RGA program
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES: NF, RO, UF, MF, Capillary and Process Separation: 1. Thoroughly assess customer needs, operational conditions, and business challenges in order to develop and deliver value-based proposals through upselling products. Propose the most appropriate products, systems, and solutions that address customer requirements and deliver measurable business value.
2. Obtain laboratory test results, pilot testing data, and benchmark data, and develop technical case studies based on these data as well as field performance data to support value-driven proposals, customer decision-making, and internal alignment.
3. Investigate, analyze, and resolve customer product-related technical issues by evaluating system performance, operating data, and returned membranes. Identify root causes of performance issues and recommend corrective actions or system improvements.
4. Effectively visualize, document, and communicate the value of proposed solutions to customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring that technical recommendations translate into tangible and measurable customer benefits.
5. Provide technical support to Sales teams and customers throughout the project lifecycle to ensure proper product application and successful project execution. Respond to a broad range of technical inquiries related to product usage, system design, and performance.
6. Collaborate closely with Sales teams and customers to support product selection, application optimization, and system performance evaluation.
7. Support plant commissioning and startup activities at customer sites to ensure smooth system startup and stable operation. Perform on-site troubleshooting, analyze operational issues, and provide recommendations to restore or improve system performance.
8. Evaluate the performance of new and existing products in both new and existing applications through on-site customer support, pilot testing, and analysis of plant operating data.
9. Analyze membrane plant operating data and returned membranes, and prepare clear, accurate, and professional technical summaries, reports, and recommendations. Communicate findings and proposed solutions to customers both verbally and in writing.
10. Oversee the operation and management of pilot units, including test planning, operation, performance evaluation, and data analysis to support product and application validation.
11. Lead and promote the Returned Goods Authorization (RGA) program by coordinating technical evaluations, documenting findings, and serving as a key technical liaison between customers, Sales, and internal teams.
12. Manage multiple technical activities and priorities simultaneously while meeting project timelines and quality expectations.
13. Perform other related duties as assigned, consistent with the scope and responsibilities of the position.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. No direct reports within the organization; oversees plant staff during the installation of equipment.
MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
1. Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or comparable; 6 years' directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Three (3) years' experience in water industry, preferred.
3. Experience in Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM), A&E firms, or chemical manufacturing companies is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and/or ABILITIES:
1. Strong working knowledge of water chemistry concepts, fluid flow and water pressure as well as analytical methods in chemistry and technical writing standards.
2. Strong understanding of Reverse Osmosis, Ultrafiltration and Microfiltration processes and products including construction and manufacturing of Spiral Wound elements and Capillary Modules, modes of operation and failure of membrane systems and the effects of foulants and cleaning chemicals on membrane products. Intermediate working knowledge of plant processes, a plus.
3. Strong application of critical thinking skills along with exceptional problem-solving skills. Ability to conduct analytical evaluations and identify root cause of failures, then recommend corrective measures to improve product performance.
4. Ability to proactively approach customers with a strategic mindset to identify value creation opportunities, influence customer decision-making, and contribute to account growth through aligned technical and commercial strategies.
5. Ability to respond proactively to training, technical support and customer service needs within standard operating processes.
6. Strong multi-tasking skills, flexibility in responding to rapidly changing, dynamic processes and demands/pressures in a fast-paced environment.
7. Strong ability to verbally communicate across functional organizational groups, provide high-level customer service through effective interpersonal skills and conflict resolution.
8. Strong Microsoft Office Suite software applications such as Excel, Word, Power Point, and other enterprise software applications such as JD Edwards.
9. Strong language skills with the ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
10. Write clear processes, manuals and reports for management review and present technical information in understandable terms and respond to questions from groups of customers, employees and/or public.
11. Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
12. Work independently as well as in a small and/or large group and foster cooperation in a team environment using interpersonal skills.1
