Your Role
As a Product/Portfolio Manager you will contribute to growth-focused initiatives and cross-functional programs, supporting and driving key projects within the Analytical & Bioassay portfolio as part of the BioReliance Contract Testing Services portfolio. The ideal candidate will conduct market analysis, support compelling applications and business cases, drive innovation and improvement processes, and support the execution of strategic initiatives and product launches to strengthen our market presence and improve portfolio P&L.
Main Responsibilities:
Strategy Support & Execution:
- As the co-owner of the overall P&L for your respective portfolio, you will support and drive cross-functional initiatives to optimize pricing, cost, and value delivery, improving portfolio P&L and margins.
- Support the development of the marketing plan and ensure alignment with overall business strategies.
- Participate in annual processes such as Strategic Development (SD) and Operational Planning (OP).
Market Analysis & Insights:
- Conduct comprehensive market analysis and research to gather insights on trends, competition, and customer needs pertinent to the managed portfolio.
- Support the development of market-specific strategies and roadmaps for the respective franchise, including the innovation pipeline.
Sales Support & Commercial Enablement:
- Ensure timely responses to customer inquiries about pricing, assay amendments, and availability, while providing support during escalations and addressing quality and performance issues.
- Equip commercial teams with knowledge on processes, innovations, and continuous improvements to enhance their selling capabilities.
- Coordinate marketing campaigns to boost lab utilization and develop/update marketing assets (collateral, flyers, social media) for targeted customer audiences.
- Collaborate with sales on tradeshows and conferences, creating necessary messaging and collateral.
- Contribute to marketing communication plans, including webinars and account-based marketing campaigns.
Application & Business Case Development:
- Support the development of comprehensive application and business cases to support portfolio development and innovation.
- Support the development of business cases for substantial growth, cross-functional capacity expansion, or other strategic initiatives relevant to your portfolio.
Positioning & Portfolio Improvements:
- Play a key role in driving portfolio improvement and enhancement processes to meet customer expectations and effectively position the portfolio in the market.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align innovative ideas and ensure successful execution within the respective functions.
- Support global go-to-market (GTM) activities in partnership with marketing communications (Marcom) and scientific subject matter experts (SMEs), including webinars, collateral, flyers, and social media initiatives to further promote new additions or improvements to portfolio.
- Drive product management support for the upcoming new Darmstadt site, working across functions to ensure portfolio alignment, readiness, and effective implementation of key go-to-market initiatives
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field
- Minimum 4 years ofdirect and demonstrated experience in product management, portfolio management, or a marketing/commercial related role within the life sciences or biotechnology industry.
OR
- PhD/Master's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years ofdirect and demonstrated experience in product management, portfolio management, or a marketing/commercial related role within the life sciences or biotechnology industry.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work across cross-functional teams and business groups.
- Experience in driving product innovation and managing go-to-market activities andcollaborative work environment is preferred
