Student Assistant (HiWi) - Scientific Software Development for ECG Analysis Tool

We are looking for a motivated student assistant to support the development of an open-source software tool for ECG analysis, arrhythmia detection, and annotation tool: https://github.com/realchrisward/Physiology-Analysis-Tools
You will contribute to software development, user-interface improvements, and machine-learning integration while working closely with physiology and AI researchers.
Your profile
- Currently enrolled as a Bachelor's or Master's student in Computer Science, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related field
- Good programming skills in Python
- Experience with software development and version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Experience with desktop GUI development (PyQt/PySide or similar) is a plus
- Interest in machine learning and signal processing
- Comfortable collaborating with domain experts and translating requirements into software solutions
- Experience with physiological signal analysis (e.g., ECG) is advantageous
Your tasks
- Familiarize yourself with the software and its codebase
- Develop and maintain a Python-based analysis tool
- Improve software usability, functionality, and performance
- Implement and test new features for ECG annotation and arrhythmia analysis
- Support the integration of machine-learning models
