We're expanding and currently looking for a Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer (m/w/d) to join and strengthen our customer team in Weling.

In this role, you will support flight test instrumentation activities within a highly technical aerospace environment, working with sensors, data acquisition, recording, and telemetry systems.

You will contribute to FTI requirements coordination, sensor and equipment selection, system design, laboratory testing, aircraft integration, and troubleshooting to ensure reliable flight test data collection.

Your main tasks

Your main tasks

  • Coordinate instrumentation requirements with engineering teams based on the flight test parameter list
  • Select suitable sensors, transducers, instrumentation equipment, and data acquisition components
  • Support instrumentation system design, including:
    • Sensor integration
    • Signal routing
    • Wiring concept
    • DAQ setup
    • Aircraft installation constraints
  • Support laboratory checks and integration tests to verify correct instrumentation functionality
  • Support installation and integration of instrumentation equipment onto the aircraft
  • Troubleshoot issues related to:
    • Sensors and transducers
    • Wiring and signal routing
    • Signal quality
    • DAQ channels
    • Installation deviations
  • Review instrumentation wiring diagrams, installation data, and technical documentation
  • Provide shop floor support for sensor placement, routing checks, installation deviations, and rework clarification
  • Collaborate with flight test, electrical, mechanical, systems, and aircraft integration teams

Requirements

Desired Profile

  • Engineering degree or equivalent qualification in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, avionics, mechatronics, or a related technical field
  • Preferred: 1 year of experience in flight instrumentation, flight test instrumentation, aircraft instrumentation, avionics, data acquisition, or an aerospace test environment
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of sensors, transducers, data acquisition systems, signal routing, and aircraft instrumentation
  • Understanding of flight test instrumentation principles, wiring diagrams, and aircraft installation constraints
  • Ability to interpret flight test parameter lists, installation drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for instrumentation-related issues
  • Autonomous, structured, and solution-oriented working style
  • Good communication skills for coordination with engineering and aircraft integration teams
