Job Description
Columbia Threadneedle Investments is looking to hire a senior Real Estate alternatives sales professional to join the European platform, based in London, Munich or Frankfurt. The role will focus on Real Estate alternatives distribution across Continental Europe, with particular emphasis on the DACH region and the Nordics.
The individual will be responsible for originating, developing and closing investor relationships across a diverse institutional client base. The individual will have a proven ability to generate sales and close transactions, supported by a strong and demonstrable deal sheet. They will bring a strong understanding of a range of investment structures, including private equity style LP GP funds, open ended vehicles, SMAs, permanent capital strategies and newer fund structures. The role requires a specialist sales professional with deep knowledge of the Real Estate alternatives market and well established networks across Heads of Alternatives and Heads of Real Estate allocation at LPs, GPs, pension funds, insurance companies, smaller institutional investors and family offices.
The successful candidate will be highly collaborative and comfortable operating within a complex matrix organisation, working closely with the existing Distribution team and other internal stakeholders across the business. They may come from a placement agent, the private funds group of an investment bank, an in house GP sales team or a comparable role within an investment management firm. The role requires 15 years or more of total professional experience, including at least 7 8 years of proven real estate sales experience, with strong Continental European coverage and established relationships in the DACH region and Nordics; UK relationships would be viewed as an advantage.

Fundraising Experience
- 15+ years' experience in business development, fundraising and investor relations. Strong knowledge of market environment and deep networks across Heads of Alts/RE allocation across GPs, pension plans, insurance companies and with a focus on Family Offices and LPs in continental Europe.
Real Estate Experience
- 7 + years' experience representing real estate products. Understanding of various structures including PE style LP GP funds, open ended funds, SMAs, permanent capital vehicles, and newer structures.
Geographic Exposure
- Coverage experience across Continental Europe with a focus on DACH and Nordics. UK Family Office relationships would also be valuable.
Stakeholder Management
- Experience communicating with and gaining buy in from a broad range of stakeholders (business leaders, investment teams, client teams). Ability to work collaboratively across complex matrix structures and cohesively with the existing Distribution team.
