Your MissionAs global markets evolve, new application areas and industry verticals are emerging with increasing demand for reliable and high-performance energy solutions. To strengthen Trench Group's growth trajectory, we are looking for a Business Development Manager - New Verticals (m/f/d) to expand our presence beyond our existing core markets.

In this highly strategic role, you will identify, develop, and establish new vertical markets, building capabilities and structured approaches to unlock additional growth opportunities. You will position Trench Group as a trusted partner in industries that are not yet fully addressed today.

Your Tasks:
  • New Vertical Market Development: Identify, evaluate, and develop new vertical markets beyond the currently structured segments. Build a strong pipeline of opportunities and drive entry strategies into emerging industries.
  • Strategic Planning and Market Expansion: Develop business plans and go-to-market strategies for new verticals in close cooperation with Product Management, Sales, and R&D. Define scalable approaches to enter and structure these markets globally.
  • Customer Acquisition and Relationship Building: Establish and grow relationships with key stakeholders in new industries. Understand customer needs and translate them into tailored solutions and business opportunities.
  • Technology Positioning and Solution Development: Promote Trench Group's technologies in new application fields. Adapt value propositions and solutions to meet the specific requirements of each vertical. Represent the company at relevant industry events, exhibitions, and conferences.
  • Market Intelligence and Innovation Input: Conduct structured market and competitor analysis to identify trends, customer requirements, and future developments. Provide actionable insights to Product Management and R&D to support innovation and portfolio expansion.
  • Reporting and Stakeholder Alignment: Track progress of new vertical initiatives and report key insights, opportunities, and risks to Management, Sales, Product Management, and R&D stakeholders.


Requirements:
  • Educational Background: Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or comparable qualifications.
  • Experience: Proven experience in Business Development, Sales, Strategy, or Product Management, ideally with exposure to multiple industries or emerging markets. Experience in building new business areas from scratch is highly desirable.
  • Market and Technical Understanding: Quickly understand new industries, applications, and technical requirements. Background in energy, electrical infrastructure, or industrial systems is a strong advantage.
  • Sales and Communication Skills: Strong entrepreneurial mindset with excellent networking, negotiation, and presentation skills. Ability to communicate complex technical and strategic topics effectively.
  • Analytical and Strategic Thinking: Highly analytical with a structured and proactive approach. Strong capability to translate market insights into concrete business strategies.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Mobility and Flexibility: Willingness to travel internationally and operate in a global environment.
