To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement: 06/30/2026.
TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENT: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade at any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
The grade may have been in any occupation but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. - Serve as primary resource for the Service members and their dependents to initiate a Benefits Due at Discharge (BDD) or excluded claims process regarding VA benefits;
- Receive packages from discharging Service members and reviews same to ensure compliance with acceptable referral criteria;
- Schedule and conduct appointments with Service members to provide Service members and/or their dependent(s) overview of benefits and provide resources for obtaining VA contact information;
- Advise Service members of purpose of BDD, and BDD excluded.
- Assist with completion of forms and advise of rights about identifying and claiming disabilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
