Investment Banking Analyst

The Analyst position at Mizuho | Greenhill offers qualified candidates exposure to all aspects of global mergers and acquisitions. Due to the size of the Firm, an Analyst position at Mizuho | Greenhill provides outstanding experience and unparalleled exposure to its senior professionals.

Analyst responsibilities include valuing companies using a variety of methodologies, preparing and delivering presentations, conducting research, drafting selling memoranda, analyzing business models and participating in due diligence and client meetings.

Key responsibilities include:

o Preparation of client presentations analyzing financial information relating to specific companies/industries;

o Financial analysis and financial modelling of companies, including:
  • Valuation across a range of methodologies;
  • Combination and "merger" analysis;
  • Financing and structuring;

o Monitoring of client news flow and general business and industry research;

o Monitoring the financial news using specialist media sources;

o Assisting with the project management of client mandates, typically advice to corporates regarding:
  • Mergers, acquisitions and disposals;
  • General financial advisory;

o Supporting and working on live transactions including:
  • Development of potential buyer lists;
  • Supporting preparation of confidential offering memoranda;
  • Preparation of management presentations;
  • Supporting corporate due diligence;
  • Preparation of operating and financial models;
  • Liaising with other professional advisory firms such as accountants and lawyers;
  • Client interaction at multiple levels typically below board level;
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as necessary; and

o Development training and coaching of interns.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Exceptional academic credentials from a leading university, as well as having:
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to perform well under pressure;
  • A keen eye for detail, strong numerical ability and logical reasoning;
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas clearly;
  • Demonstrable commercial awareness and a real interest in transactions;
  • A strong track record of excellence in extra-curricular activities alongside your studies; and
  • Fluency in German and English;
  • Previous internship and/or full-time experience in investment banking at a leading institution is required for this role
