Position Purpose
The Global Product Manager - RoboTIG, Plasma & Automated Welding Systems is responsible for the global strategy, development, and commercial success of EWM's automated TIG and plasma welding portfolio.
This role acts as the key interface between customers, markets, R&D, engineering, sales, marketing, and manufacturing, ensuring technologically leading and highly precise welding solutions worldwide.
The role combines strategic product ownership, deep application expertise, and cross-functional execution in a global matrix organization.

Position Purpose
The Global Product Manager - RoboTIG, Plasma & Automated Welding Systems is responsible for the global strategy, development, and commercial success of EWM's automated TIG and plasma welding portfolio.
This role acts as the key interface between customers, markets, R&D, engineering, sales, marketing, and manufacturing, ensuring technologically leading and highly precise welding solutions worldwide.
The role combines strategic product ownership, deep application expertise, and cross-functional execution in a global matrix organization.
Key Accountabilities
Product Strategy & Portfolio Management
- Define and drive the global strategy for automated TIG and plasma welding systems and components
- Manage the full product lifecycle, including power sources, torches, sensors, and automation modules
- Translate market trends and customer requirements into MRD/PRD specifications
- Drive innovation in high-precision and high-purity welding applications
Technology & Market Intelligence
- Monitor global trends in TIG, plasma, automation, sensors, and Industry 4.0
- Analyze key industries such as aerospace, pharma, food & beverage, and high-purity manufacturing
- Benchmark competitors, technologies, and system architectures
- Identify new application fields and growth opportunities
Cross-Functional Development
- Collaborate with R&D to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Support development of welding processes, control systems, and automation interfaces
- Lead prototyping, validation, field trials, and industrialization
- Drive value engineering and performance improvements
Go-to-Market & Sales Enablement
- Define global launch, positioning, and pricing strategies
- Support sales teams with training, tools, and technical documentation
- Develop application materials, presentations, and marketing content
- Support key projects, tenders, and customer opportunities
Customer & Partner Engagement
- Work closely with OEMs, integrators, and key customers
- Support complex automation and high-precision welding projects
- Conduct pilot installations and process optimization
- Collect and translate market feedback into product improvements
Business Ownership
- Ensure portfolio profitability, margins, and cost optimization
- Build business cases for new developments and investments
- Track KPIs, forecasts, and overall portfolio performance
Representation & Stakeholder Management
- Represent EWM at global exhibitions, conferences, and customer events
- Communicate product strategy and value proposition internally and externally
- Collaborate closely with global R&D, sales, marketing, and production teams
Qualifications & Requirements
- Degree in engineering (welding, mechanical, electrical, automation or similar)
- Experience in TIG and/or plasma welding in automated environments
- Strong understanding of robotics (ABB, KUKA, FANUC, Yaskawa)
- Knowledge of welding systems, sensors, power sources, and automation integration
- Experience with high-precision and high-purity welding applications is an advantage
- Strong strategic, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to translate complex technical topics into clear value messages
- Proactive, structured, and international mindset
- Fluent English and German language knowledge are required
