To strengthen our service team, we are looking for a hands-on and technically skilled Service Engineer (m/f/d) with a strong background in electrical engineering, SMD soldering, and control systems.
Your tasks
- Provide technical support for our international customers, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of AFM systems
- Perform on-site and remote system installations, calibrations, technical training, and user onboarding
- Carry out hardware diagnostics and repairs on electronic assemblies, including fine-pitch SMD rework under a microscope
- Analyze support cases, perform root cause analyses, and document findings in the internal knowledge base
- Manage spare parts, maintain service inventory, and logistics for service.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, application specialists, and production on complex technical issues
Your profile
- Bachelor/master's degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or a related technical field.
- Experience with AFM, SPM, or related technologies is a strong advantage.
- Solid hands-on experience with SMD soldering and rework
- Practical knowledge in control systems engineering, including control loop tuning and electronics integration
- Ideally some prior experience in technical service, field service, or commissioning of high-tech systems
- Motivated, reliable, well-organized, and systematic working style.
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira Service Management and SAP is a plus
- Willingness to travel internationally (approx. 20-30%)
- Very good communication skills in English and German, both spoken and written
