The commercial unit of Red Bull Soccer is dedicated to power the club network's partnership sales efforts as well as pioneering innovative sponsorship strategies within the global sports industry. We are seeking a driven and experienced Business Development Manager to lead our efforts in identifying, securing, and maximizing sponsorship opportunities for our soccer clubs worldwide. In a rapidly evolving sponsorship market, we aim to leverage our expertise in sales consultancy to drive revenue growth and establish strategic partnerships that elevate the success of our clubs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

All the responsibilities we'll trust you with:
  • Guiding and coordinating Partnership & Sales Departments

    Collaborate closely with partnership & sales units within our club network to align inventory, sponsorship goals, streamline processes, and optimize revenue generation.
  • Maximize Market Presence

    Lead the identification and acquisition of sponsorship opportunities, leveraging your expertise to cultivate new client relationships and expand our market presence.
  • Managing Sponsorship Opportunities

    Manage sponsorship opportunities within our portfolio, outlining project plans, milestones, and timelines to ensure successful negotiation and agreement.
  • Managing cross-asset sales initiatives

    collaborate closely with partnership & sales units within the World of Red Bull to drive partnership & sales initiatives across the Corporate Projects within the World of Red Bull
  • Stakeholder Relationships

    Develop and nurture internal and external relationships with key stakeholders in the sports industry to transform promising ventures into strategic sponsorship initiatives.
  • Creativity & Innovation

    Create innovative sponsorship approaches and pitches in collaboration with clubs and potential partners to drive revenue growth and maximize brand exposure. Stay abreast of industry trends to develop creative sponsorship campaigns and strategies that resonate with target audiences.
  • Product Development

    Drive product development initiatives for clubs, Red Bull Soccer, and the broader Red Bull ecosystem to attract new sponsors and enhance existing partnerships particularly internationally and across our club network.
  • On-the-ground support

    Direct, hands-on assistance provided to sales teams or representatives in our club network, essentially offering guidance to ensure successful sales activities.

EXPERIENCE

Your areas of knowledge and expertise

that matter most for this role:

  • Masters' degree, ideally in Business Administration, Strategy, or related field
  • Intercultural experience
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in sponsorship sales or business development roles within the sports industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully securing and managing sponsorship agreements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in conducting trend and market research within the sports or technology sector.
  • In-depth understanding of sponsorship sales within the SportsTech market and strong business acumen.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain sustainable relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in developing creative sponsorship proposals and business case modeling.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a drive for results and solution orientation.
  • Strong project management and execution skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage complexity.
  • Excellent communication skills in both German and English, with strong networking abilities.
  • Travel 20-30%
