Data Scientist R&D Coatings (m/f/x)

Your responsibilities

• Conduction of data analyses for experimental datasets in close collaboration with team members to develop new coating designs and processes
• Development and maintenance of the data infrastructure
• Development of simulation and predictive models for coating processes, focusing on material and thin-film properties, as well as identifying optimal process parameters
• Project lead of research and development projects related to the coating and tinting of ophthalmic lenses, including project planning, risk analysis, progress tracking, and documentation
• Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams across materials science, physics, chemistry, and laboratory operations to connect experimental research with modeling and simulation activities

Your profile

• Completed studies in Data Science, Engineering, Physics or Chemistry
• Several years of professional experience as a Data Scientist
• Strong knowledge of developing, validating, and applying simulation models and databases
• Expertise in software development, for example using Python
• Business fluent in German and fluent in English
• Proficient in MS Office
• Enthusiasm for collaborating in interdisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions
• Strong analytical thinking skills and a structured, independent approach to work
• Results-driven and communicative team player with a high degree of proactivity and a hands-on mindset
