As Team Lead Creative (f/m/d) at Kess Berlin, you'll be responsible for shaping and protecting the visual identity of the brand across all our channels such as social, paid, CRM, shop, retail, PR and brand campaigns. You'll develop strong creative concepts and lead our creative team with the goal of delivering high-quality, high-performing assets at speed - supporting the pace of a fast-growing D2C brand.
Your responsibilities include:
- Develop compelling creative concepts and create strong visual storytelling across all channels.
- Lead, mentor and develop the creative team by providing clear direction, hands-on creative feedback, and strong prioritization - while ensuring accountability for quality, timelines, and execution.
- Define and safeguard the creative direction and visual consistency of Kess.
- Set the bar for design craft - typography, layout, and design systems - and give concrete creative input that elevates the team's work.
- Lead Production and Graphic Design teams from creative briefing through final approval, ensuring high-quality, on-brand execution.
- Oversee photo, video and design production, including the coordination of external freelancers and production partners.
- Build scalable creative workflows, templates and asset management processes to increase efficiency and support business growth.
- Use AI tools to accelerate creative processes while maintaining high quality standards and keeping pace with emerging trends in AI, digital culture and innovation.
- Collaborate closely with Product to translate product positioning into compelling creative narratives.
- Cooperate with Marketing and Retail to ensure creative concepts are effectively executed, and assets deliver maximum impact.
What we expect from you
Must-haves
- 5+ years of experience in Art Direction or Creative Production, ideally with digital-first beauty, fashion, or other D2C brands.
- Experience leading and developing a team of creatives and managing freelance partners.
- Strong foundation in graphic design (typography).
- Hands-on experience owning content productions end-to-end, from concept and shoot planning to post-production, including budget and timeline ownership.
- Confident in Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with Figma and template-based workflows (e.g., Canva) for scalable asset production.
- Strong aesthetic judgment aligned with a clean, product-forward visual language.
- Understanding that creative output needs to perform - you're comfortable balancing brand aesthetics with conversion-driven asset requirements (paid social, e-commerce, CRM).
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the knowledge to defend creative decisions with commercial arguments.
- Experience managing competing priorities and high asset volumes without losing quality standards.
- Fluent English is mandatory; German is a plus.
Nice-to-haves
- Established network of photographers, videographers, stylists, and production partners - ideally in Berlin.
- Experience with creative testing and ad formats on Meta and TikTok (hooks, iterations, performance feedback loops).
- Working knowledge of AI-supported creative tools (e.g., Midjourney, Runway) and motion design basics.
- Experience with packaging, POS, or international productions.
