Your Role
- Contribute to the development of next-generation lens designs for ZEISS ophthalmic lenses
- Develop and assess optical concepts for spectacle lenses with a focus on visual performance, product relevance, and customer benefit
- Collaborate with research teams to translate scientific findings into design concepts and appropriate laboratory validation approaches
- Support wearer trials and contribute to the interpretation and communication of study results
- Support claim generation and substantiation in alignment with product management requirements and product positioning
- Accompany product development activities through key phases up to market introduction especially for the XRX business segment
- Represent the ZEISS Vision Care Lens Design team in selected external expert settings, including trade fairs and scientific conferences
Your Profile
- University degree in physics, optics, optometry, ophthalmic optics, vision science, engineering, or a comparable scientific discipline. PhD is appreciated
- Initial experience or strong interest in optical design, visual optics, spectacle lens design, ophthalmic products, or applied vision science
- Ability to analyze complex scientific and technical topics and translate them into practical, product-oriented solutions
- Strong motivation to work in an interdisciplinary environment across research, product management, development, and testing functions
- Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented working style
- Confident communication skills in English; German language skills are an advantage
- Interest in communicating technical topics in internal and external expert forums
