This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce positions of the to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: As a Military Pay Technician you will perform comprehensive review of military pay documents, forms, orders, and vouchers for service members. You will provide military entitlements, pay, and benefits guidance and support to multiple individuals and organizations.Qualifications:Who May Apply: US Citizens

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. GS-05
Experience: Operate office automation, and software applications to process actions.
OR
Education: Completion of four years above high school. (This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school).

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience.

Specialized experience:One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes: Performing comprehensive reviews of military pay documents, reviewing forms, orders, and vouchers for service members; receiving and resolving problem cases involving over payment or under payment; AND providing military entitlements, pay and benefits technical guidance to Soldiers, Units, and Army Finance Offices.
OR
Education: Completion of graduate education in a field directly related to the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

GS-07
Specialized experience:One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes: Performing comprehensive reviews of military pay documents, review forms, orders, and vouchers for service members; receiving and resolving problem cases involving over payment or under payment; performing analysis, conducting investigations and performing research to settle complicated and problematic situations affecting benefits and entitlements; AND providing military entitlements, pay and benefits technical guidance to Soldiers, Units, and Army Finance Offices.

Education: Completion of graduate education in a field directly related to the work of the position

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. Add the two percentages.Education:FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
