The research group Structural Biology of Photosynthetic Microorganisms at the Biology/Chemistry Department at the University of Osnabrück is seeking at the earliest possible date a:
Postdoctoral Research Associate (m/f/d)
(Pay grade 13 TV-L, 100%)


The position is limited until 31.07.2027.

Your tasks:

Work on a project funded by the Emmy Noether Programme of the DFG
  • Production of recombinant proteins
  • Structural analysis of target proteins and protein complexes using single particle cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) and cryo-electron tomography (cryo-ET)
  • Biochemical and molecular biological analysis of target proteins in vitro and in vivo
  • Acquisition, analysis, and presentation of experimental data and preparation of scientific publications

Qualifications:
  • Completed master's degree (or equivalent) in biology, structural biology, biochemistry, biophysics, microbiology, or a related field
  • Completed PhD in biology, structural biology, biochemistry, biophysics, microbiology, or a related field

Ideally, you have:
  • Good knowledge and practical experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, structural biology
  • Experience in single particle cryo-EM is of advantage
  • Experience in cryo-ET is of advantage
  • Experience in the cultivation of bacterial cultures, especially cyanobacteria, is of advantage
  • Good English skills and willingness to work cooperatively
