Position overview

The Roboticist, Control Systems Engineer role leads the control systems development for high-performance multi-test-head machines by conducting dynamic modeling and system identification of elastic multi-body structures, from motor power generation to test head movement. In this role, you will design advanced algorithms for motion coordination, planning, and closed-loop regulation, while architecting modern embedded control systems through automated code generation. Ultimately, you will implement, document, and validate control solutions across all development phases, including simulations, test setups, and series production devices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analysis, modeling, and system identification of our (elastic) mechatronic (multi-body) systems-from power generation in the motors to the coordinated movement of the test heads
  • Development of algorithms for motion coordination, planning, control, and closed-loop regulation of our high-performance multi-test-head machines
  • Design of a modern control system architecture for the machine, incorporating all embedded components and utilizing automatic code generation tools
  • Implementation and documentation of development results across simulations, test setups, and series production devices

Experience and Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Natural Sciences, Mathematics, or a comparable field
  • In-depth knowledge of analyzing and designing modern digital control systems (e.g., MPC), particularly related to mechatronic drive systems and robotics
  • Expertise in C/C++ and Python implementation (e.g., Control Systems Library)
  • Practical experience in validating models and control strategies is an advantage (capturing Bode plots, parameter optimization of grey-box models, etc.)
  • Independent, structured, reliable, and solution-oriented approach to work
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills (German/English), as well as a high degree of creativity

What we offer

  • An inclusive, team-oriented culture defined by open communication, minimal hierarchy, and active social events.
  • Customizable working hours and flextime options designed to help you balance your personal and professional priorities.
  • A robust perks structure covering seasonal bonuses, longevity milestone gifts, commuting stipends, accident coverage, and retirement savings matches.
  • Continuous access to high-impact training workshops and professional advancement opportunities.
