Associate Consultant IFRS17 & SII Process (m/f/d)* Limited to 18 months

Central Reserving (CR) uses quantitative and qualitative methods to perform and oversee the loss reserve analyses for Munich Re's group-wide property and casualty business. This includes continuous monitoring of the group's reserve position, and the further development of actuarial methods, the underlying systems and tools.

Within Central Reserving, the section Reserving IFRS17 & SII Process is responsible for providing high-quality data, advanced reserving products, tools and analyses to the global reserving community related to the accounting standards IFRS17 and Solvency II. The focus is on the implementation of new functionalities, automation of processes and controls, as well as execution and continuous improvement of quarterly IFRS17 & Solvency II closing procedures including technical quality assurance.

To complement our team of experts, we are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are motivated to contribute towards our targets and who are highly interested in understanding reserving processes in order to transfer them into technical solutions.

Your Job

  • Supporting the global provisioning of IFRS17 & SII reserving-relevant analyses, reports and data in high quality
  • Contributing to the efficient execution of IFRS17 & SII processing and quality assurance during quarterly closing
  • Supporting the implementation and application of actuarial methods for IFRS17 & SII reporting, especially with regard to Actual Closing, Forecast and Plan, and helping to assess their impact
  • Contributing to test activities, including test automation, test efficiency and test management for different test types
  • Contributing to a constructive work environment and maintaining effective communication within the team, as well as with colleagues in the global reserving community
  • Supporting the global reserving community in refining the global reserving process for IFRS17 & SII, with a focus on constructive collaboration and change management

Your Profile

  • University degree with quantitative focus (e.g. mathematics, actuarial science, information technology, or economics)
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, or experience in statistical programming languages (e.g., R or Python), experience in developing tools based on cubes (e.g., TM1, SSAS) helpful
  • Strong strategic, conceptual and analytical skillset, focusing on pragmatic development of innovative concepts and solutions
  • Intrinsically motivated team player with a positive attitude towards leading change
  • Working collaboratively and effectively in an international group dynamic, often virtual; proficient in agile ways of working
  • Empathy and persuasive power combined with the ability to give, demand, and consider feedback
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English
