The department "Procurement Law & Mobility" advises and supports all business units, in particular GBS Corporate Procurement as well as Mobility and IT across the Group, on procurement- and IT-related legal matters (including the enforcement of rights vis-a-vis suppliers).

Key Responsibilities:
Subject Matter Law Senior Specialist (m/f/d)
Providing legal advice to Corporate Procurement and all Group divisions with a focus on international contract drafting, civil and commercial law (German Civil Code - BGB and Commercial Code - HGB), particularly in the area of IT law.
- Defining, implementing and continuously developing global contract standards, frameworks, and legal processes in the context of IT procurement and digital business models
- Independently designing, legally assessing, and structuring often novel, complex, and business-critical issues in IT and civil law, with a particular focus on contract drafting, standardization, and Group-wide advice on governance topics
- Conducting a holistic analysis of legal and economic challenges faced by central and divisional business units, particularly IT departments and Corporate Procurement
- Developing practical and risk-appropriate solutions
- Driving sustainable improvements in quality, efficiency, and consistency in existing contract and decision-making processes-both within own area of responsibility and in collaboration with involved business units and Corporate Procurement
- Leading sophisticated contract negotiations and tactically managing complex coordination processes
- Close advisory collaboration with internal stakeholders at specialist and management level within Corporate Procurement and divisional IT functions
- Enforcing legal positions vis-a-vis external partners and suppliers
- Advising on legal disputes of significant economic impact
- Managing and collaborating with external law firms (e.g. in litigation cases)
- Reviewing and ensuring compliance with applicable legal provisions and internal policies
- Monitoring developments in IT and commercial law, including case law and legislative initiatives
- Interpreting the implications and requirements of such developments
- Deriving, aligning, and implementing recommendations for action
- Communicating with and advising relevant stakeholders and business units
- Representing DHL Group in internal and external working groups and industry associations, including developing recommendations on strategic, legally relevant matters
- Providing subject-matter leadership for (sub-)projects within the Global Procurement Practice Group or the Group IT Security Working Group, particularly in the introduction of new contract standards, legal tools, or Group-wide processes
- Preparing and delivering internal training sessions for Legal and DHL colleagues on current topics (e.g. AI and cyber security contractual regulations) as well as general contract law
Professional Requirements:
- Completed law degree (Second State Examination) or comparable qualification
- Extensive relevant professional experience as an in-house lawyer with a focus on contract drafting
- Strong expertise in international IT contract law, civil law, intellectual property law, and related legal fields
- Strong affinity for IT as well as interest in business and technology-related contexts
- Experience in preparing and delivering legal training
- Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and assessing contracts
- Very good command of English and German
