Your mission
Working hours: 40 hours/week (5-day week)
Location: Hamburg-Ottensen
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Accountant (m/f/d) to strengthen our Finance team in Hamburg. In this role, you will manage operational accounting processes, support compliance according to German GAAP (HGB), collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, and contribute to smooth month-end and year-end closing activities.
Our hybrid working model: Tuesday-Thursday in the office, with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
Responsibilities
Bank & Treasury
- Manage and reconcile EUR bank accounts and related AR/AP transactions
- Support international payment and collection processes
E-Commerce & Payment Reconciliation
- Reconcile online transactions across various payment providers and marketplaces
- Ensure accurate financial recording of all digital revenue streams
Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable
- Process incoming invoices and prepare payment runs
- Oversee dunning processes and handle customer refunds with full documentation
Travel & Expense Management
- Review and process travel expenses and corporate credit card statements in line with company policy
General Accounting & Compliance
- Support accruals, invoicing workflows, and fixed asset accounting
- Assist in preparing VAT and tax documentation
- Contribute to monthly and annual financial closing according to HGB
Teamwide Support & Back-Up
- Provide AP/AR support for additional bank accounts
- Assist with cash handling and reconciliation
- Offer transactional support to other Finance areas as needed
Your profile
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in accounting, ideally in an internationally active company
- Strong knowledge of HGB and VAT regulations
- Confident using MS Office (especially Excel) and common accounting systems
- Structured, precise working style and strong team orientation
- Very good English language skills (written and spoken)
